Football Field Lighting

Football Field Lighting

Lighting That Covers Every Inch, Every Match, Every Season
Whether it’s a school pitch, training ground, or a full-sized stadium, proper lighting makes or breaks the football experience. But traditional floodlights often struggle to deliver the clarity, efficiency, and reliability that modern fields demand.

Problems

Football Field lighting fixtures are often affected by strong winds, player impacts, or equipment vibrations. Loose screws can cause light distribution to shift or even lead to component detachment.

Most football field lights have their power sources integrated into the fixtures, requiring the entire optical module to be disassembled for maintenance, which is time-consuming and labor-intensive.

Poor lighting uniformity in large venues: the center of the venue is too bright and the border area is too dark, causing visual discomfort to athletes and fairness issues in the event.

We need different brightness levels for training vs. match days : Many clubs waste energy using full brightness even when it’s not necessary. Training sessions don’t need the same intensity as official games.

Football Field Lighting Layout

When the light poles on both sides of the field are arranged, the lamps should not be arranged within 10° on both sides of the goal center along the bottom line, and the distance between the bottom of the lamp pole and the field sideline should not be less than 4m.

When the four-corner arrangement method is adopted, the angle between the line from the bottom of the lamp pole to the midpoint of the field sideline and the field sideline should not be less than 5°, and the angle between the line from the bottom of the lamp pole to the midpoint of the bottom line and the bottom line should not be less than 10.

When the horse track arrangement method is adopted on both sides of the field, the lamps should not be arranged within 10” on both sides of the goal center along the bottom line, and within 20 degrees on both sides of the back of the penalty area

11-a-side football field – Transformer IV 900W

Recommended to choose our Transformer IV series 900W:

Lighting a full 11-a-side football field takes serious power — but also precision. That’s exactly what Transformer IV 900W delivers.

It’s got a one-piece reinforced frame that can handle outdoor conditions and vibrations without breaking a sweat — even under 3G-level shocks (think strong winds, structural movement, or post-goal celebrations near the poles).

The quick-release driver box makes maintenance a breeze. If you ever need to swap out parts, you can do it fast — no full disassembly, no long downtime.

What really counts though is performance. Transformer IV gives you high, even illumination across the entire pitch — with a uniformity ratio above 0.8. That means fewer dark spots, better visibility for players and referees, and a more professional-looking field.

Frequently Asked Question

01 What’s the best mounting height for football field lights?

Typically, poles range from 12 to 30 meters (40 to 100 feet) depending on the size of the field and the beam angle of the fixtures. We’ll recommend the best height based on your layout to ensure even light without shadows.

02 Can we switch from old metal halide lamps to LED without changing the poles?

In most cases, yes. Our LED floodlights can retrofit existing poles and brackets. We just need to confirm the mounting specs and power setup.

03How much energy can we save by switching to LED?

LED lights use up to 70% less energy compared to traditional halogen or metal halide fixtures. Plus, they last much longer, so you save on both power and maintenance.

04 Are your lights weatherproof? Can they handle outdoor conditions?

Absolutely. All our football field lights are rated IP66 or higher—fully waterproof, dustproof, and built to handle rain, wind, and extreme temperatures.
